Inside EnterSolar

Meet the Team: Ella Wynn

EnterSolar has a team of experienced, passionate and dedicated solar professionals.

In this blog, we are highlighting our Senior Project Supervisor, Ella Wynn. She received her B.S. in Environmental and Ecological Engineering from Purdue University and went on to volunteer with the Peace Corps as a science teacher in Tanzania for two years. She later worked for a solar microgrid startup based in Nairobi and afterward earned an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University before joining EnterSolar’s team.

  • How would you define your role as a Senior Project Supervisor at EnterSolar?

As a Senior Project Supervisor, I manage the Project Coordination team that works with our Project Managers on the permitting, financial incentive management and subcontractor management for all projects. Coordinators are learning to become project managers, so it’s awesome to facilitate my team’s professional development. I also help oversee budget management and software best practices and training.

  • How did you first become involved in the solar industry and why?

During my time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania, I saw first-hand how solar energy can transform people’s lives. When a family installed even one solar panel and battery, they were able to have lights and charge their phones through the night, while reducing their dependence on dirty fuels such as kerosene. I am also passionate about the global economy’s transition to renewable energy to mitigate climate change on a large scale.

  • What drew you to work at EnterSolar?

I was drawn to the company culture and the potential for professional growth. During the interview process, I noticed that the team was not only interested in assessing my skill set and experience, but also my motivations and career path. Also, the company’s impressive list of clients and a strong track record didn’t hurt!

  • What motivates you in your career?

I like being able to see the outcome of my work and feel like I’m making an impact. It’s very satisfying to see a solar project go from being just a signed contract all the way to operating and providing clean energy to the grid.  In the fast-paced, dynamic solar industry, I can always learn, grow and experience new things.

  • What advice do you have for people looking to work in project management for renewable energy companies?

I would highly encourage it! Solar is a growing industry, and there are lots of opportunities.

  • Who is your favorite superhero and why?

While technically not a comic book superhero, I think Greta Thunberg is pretty incredible in her work to raise awareness about climate issues.

At EnterSolar, we value integrity, hard work and collaboration. Our teams work together to provide customized, turnkey solar solutions to our commercial clients, and we take pride in our impeccable references.
